FAQs

How do I donate?

If you want to use the Online portal for an electronic payment, click on the "Donate Now" button on the Donate page.

If you prefer to pay with a physical check, you can mail a check to our address. Make checks payable to "Keller Lake Improvement Association".

If you have any specific questions about donating, you can send an email to kellerlakeia.donations@gmail.com to contact the Treasurer.

Thank you!

Where does the money go?

Your donation supports water quality improvement projects, mainly by paying for professionally treating the offshore portion of the lake to manage aquatic nuisance vegetation and species, such as curly-leaf pondweed, Eurasian watermilfoil, Filamentous algae, zebra mussels, etc.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes! KLIA is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We provide tax receipts for donations.

IRS EIN = 32-0830349.

KLIA is classified as a public charity under IRC Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi).

How do I become a member of the Keller Lake Improvement Association?

You can become a "voting" member of KLIA if you have an ownership interest in a parcel of land abutting Keller Lake (in the City of Maplewood, in Ramsey County, MN), and you pay the annual dues. (The annual dues are a Charitable Donation for your tax purposes.)

Current annual dues are $100 per parcel, and each paid parcel carries one vote. (Voting is mainly concerned with deciding which treatment we should use that year, which determines our fundraising goal for the year.)

If you do not own property on Keller Lake, but you would like to help keep Keller Lake clean and navigable for recreational use, please consider donating to our cause! We greatly appreciate any donations!
